A message from Hermey.

Hi my name is Hermey, perhaps you recognize me. I would just like to say that even a misfit toy can bring a smile to a child's face during the Holiday season. As you may remember if it weren't for the misfit toys I may not be here today. I have prepared a box wrapped in familiar red "Rudolph" Holiday paper, which you will find at the Red Dot when you see it please place your donation there. I will personally be picking them up after hours each night during the donation period to ensure they are cataloged and compare them to Santa's list to ensure they are received by a loving child. Don't worry if you don't celebrate Christmas but rather Hanukah, Kwanza or any other.
I would also like to thank both the staff of the Red Dot and GayHudson.com for joining together to make a difference in the life local children in need.

Will they know it's CHIRSTMAS time at all?

The staff here at GayHudson.com thought it would be a nice idea to make a difference in the lives of the children in Hudson. So, we put our heads together and racked the few brain cells that we have left. Finally, Agnes came up with the idea of "Toys at the Dot for a Tot". It is hard to imagine what it would feel like to wake up on Christmas morning with little or nothing under the tree. This is the reality for some children in our city.

Starting Friday, 11/30/07, through the close of business on Sunday, 12/16/07, you can drop off an unwrapped toy at the RED DOT. The toys collected will be donated to the a local charity where they will be distributed to children in need. Let's show the children of Hudson that we care.

Remember Christmas and the Holidays are a time for sharing. We need to join together as a community and show what we are capable of. So, when you’re out and about town, stop by the Red Dot for dinner and/or drinks, and drop that toy in the box.

In the wonderful life...

Well its holiday season again. Right? Its starting to get cold. The next thing you know it will be Winter Walk. Never understood why they didn't call it "Winter Stroll" which would make more sense in Hudson. Right kiddos?



In one of my favorite holidy motion pictures you get to see a small town the bad and the good parts of it and the warmth and friednliness and loneliness and nastiness and smalltown part peering through the lace curtains to. The movie really contains a range of human emotion from bad to beautiful even though its ficional. Oftentimes people miss the reality of it because there are moments of saccaharine sweetness grossness but there is a lot of honesty to you know.

I mean there are a few moments when Jimmy Stewart is sitting on the bridge wher you think Shirley Temple is gonna come through tapdancing on a iceflow and your happy there is flowing water that you can puke into.


I was down at Fosters the other day and foud a closet full of old red light bulbs must have been left over from some Christmas party down there. So anybody who tells me who played the hooker in my favorite holiday movie gets one! Its a contest. Tell us the name of this oscar winning actress.


In the movie no one really rools down the wondow and yells "Hey you hooker Julia Roberts suck my dingleberry!" like they did in Pretty Lasy. So you cant just google it like Tippy did to get "Mary Wickes" besuase it was Holwyood and there are no hookers in Hollywood except the actesses. And she didnt win her oscar for this movie, she won it for a different movie. OK?

Its not THAT easy OK? I mean, in the movie I think Frankie Capra just implied that she was a pretty girl who danced well and had better clothes than the Bedford Falls librarian. Though annybody who saw "From Here to Eternity" knows there was quite a bit of hooker in Donna Reed to.

The Holiday Season is Upon Us

Oh little bucolic town of Hudson, the Holidays are upon us!

It's a busy time of year!

Next weekend, it's "Winter Walk" here in Hudson, Saturday, December 1st. 5-8pm.

Then, there's "Winter Stroll" in Catskill, on the following weekend, December 8th, followed by the afterparty at Doubles.

Also, the Snowball benefit party in Albany at Phoenix bar on December 8th as well - see flyer above.

AND, on December 15th, at the Red Dot, there's the drag queen extraordinaire, Pearlene, hosted by Musty Chiffon, with DJ Gio at midnight (I'll remind you again when we get closer).

Can I get a little respect?

This was the day my 6th husband met his maker... It was Terril's 18th birthday and my husband George bought him a beautiful and very thoughtful gift the problem was that he spent the money for Momma's pearl necklace. NO one and I mean No one gets money meant for Momma.They may say blood is thicker than water, but honey PLEASE. I know it is selfish of me but Momma hasn't gotten where she is by being soft. Terril got to keep the watch and Mr. Jefferson gave Momma a big old runny wet pearl necklace that night. Along with my 8th child Latisha...

So the question is are we any better off today than we where 30 yrs ago, we still go around calling each other words that are not acceptable for those of other races to use. And we wonder why we are not treated equally or people still don't respect us, we don't respect each other. I for one have taken that word out of my vocabulary, it is degrading and does nothing to promote respect of self worth.

Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving

This is my fav veg kid's book! Kids visit a farm and then rescue all the turkeys. It's a little radical, but hey...

There were two FABULOUS art openings this weekend.

I went to the Frank Faulkner exhibit in Catskill, and was immediately asked, "Trixie, I didn't know you went across the river?"

My friends in Brooklyn will tell you it's true. I rarely cross the East River for any occasion, but I do cross the Hudson from time to time. This time, it was NOT a trip to Home Depot.

Frank's exhibit was fabulous! I will never turn down a chance to see a wall of penises (or is it penii?).

The crowd at the opening was incredible. This woman, my new best friend, Michelle, wants to give me a tour of Catskill. Sure! She was amazing! Her outfit was incredible. This gal gets it! Life is too short!

This was the straight guy bartender at the opening. He's smiling because I was grabbing his ass.

I told him,
