What is a GAY community? Do we even know? Can anyone define it?

What if you asked, "What's a 'heterosexual' community?" What does it mean?

Exactly. No one has a clue.

The gay community here in the Hudson Valley has at least one thing in common. We want to have sex with people of the same sex.

The issues of race, gender and class still apply.

For instance, there's a performer at Doubles this weekend. She comes highly recommended, I'm sure it's going to be a good show.

But, I noticed, that there's a "sliding scale", which means, pay what you can.

How nice.

You don't see "Sliding Scale" on gay male events.

No.

The Black Party had no sliding scale, at $125 a ticket. That did not include drinks, hotel, airfare, or the leather chaps.
I DARE you to wear leather chaps to the Opera House benefit....they said, "surprise us." :)

And, there's no SLIDING SCALE on the Hudson Opera House tickets of $175 this weekend, either.

Well, I shouldn't say that....

There IS a sliding scale, but $175 is the bottom of the slide. You could pay more if you'd like.

:)

Not that the Opera House benefit is a gay event. Not at all....but I'm sure that there MIGHT be ONE, maybe TWO gay men involved? Maybe.

It's just a guess.

At the Trixie's Whorehouse parties, (the next one is Saturday, Oct 4th. UNIFORMS!) I offer $5 off the door. But, you have to go and pick up the Reduced Admission card at LICK.

Which is my way of saying, I understand that not everyone makes the same amount of money, but Trixie has NO tolerance for LAZINESS!

If you want to save five dollars, then walk your ass down to LICK and pick up the card. No excuses.

If you can't do that, then yes, you deserve to pay $5 more at the door.

That's MY sliding scale.

Plus, I see how much money people spend in Hudson on re-modeling their kitchens.

No sympathy.
