You can do it.
If it doesn't work, then you just have to KEEP DOING IT!
Two years ago, I started a party in Hudson....now....did I really know what I was doing?
I still don't.
Gio and I, we found a space.
We made fliers....and hung them up...and I put on a dress and a wig, and planned a party.
I kept planning parties, and some parties worked, and some didn't.
You throw shit up against the wall....sometimes, it sticks, sometimes it doesn't.
It takes time before you figure out the right formula.
Sometimes, you make mistakes, and that's when your friends are there, to tell you to keep going.
Every now and then, you come up with another idea....like a BINGO night.
I'll put on the dress and a wig again, and bake cookies, and call BINGO numbers, and tell stupid jokes.
How difficult can that be?
You just keep going.
Don't think about it too much.
Don't stress out.
Don't listen to the naysayers.
Don't worry that it's not good enough, or that it's not perfect.
Just do it.

OK, this is what's happening on the 27th....I'm doing one of my film nights again.
And this time, it's $25 - BUT -
The Indian restaurant, SAFFRON, is opening up in the basement and you get to sample the food.
So, I think it's a good deal. It's an extra five bucks, but worth it.
I'm all about value.

The restoration of our 1840's historic industrial building complex is nearly complete. Offices are up and running, hiring has started, and we're putting finishing touches on our restaurant, music venue and upstairs cabaret gallery. Finally, Helsinki has a home base that is truly a home. We've set our sights on opening in the spring, but will kick off with some private events very soon.
Artist spaces, green rooms, offices, kitchens, banquet facilities, and acoustical treatments are a tribute to our commitment to music, community and to the bountiful Hudson Valley.
We will continue our dedication to presenting preeminent music from around the world, and to maintain a home for music lovers, musicians and foodies in the vibrant city of Hudson, New York. Our Ballroom space is available to book meetings and private functions.
No dates, but, we'll see....

If you're thinking about what to do this weekend....let me tell you!!
First off, get yourself a FABULOUS box of hand-dipped chocolates at Vasilows!
(I didn't hand-dip them, don't worry....you don't know where my hands have been. That's why I wear the gloves.)
And, then go to my party at the RED DOT, Saturday night.
OMG, I have not seen the decorations yet, but I have a feeling that they are going to be AWESOME!!
Why? Because I didn't do them.
Trix is a "numbers gal". I'll reconcile your checkbook for you, I'll even manually calculate your bowling score, but don't ask me to decorate your house. Plus, there's about three thousand other people in this town that will be MORE than happy to decorate.
So not my skill set......
Anyway, on Sunday, go to pm, the wine bar, they are having a Valentine's Day special!
Here it is!
It includes two glasses of wine, which I know is not enough for most of you drunks, but it's a start....
And you know what?
If you don't have a Valentine, don't worry about it....
Truth is, half those couples don't want to be together anyway.
They're together because they're bored, or afraid of being alone, or codependent, or financially inter-related, or they're with an abusive spouse, or they've just been doing it for so long, they don't know what else to do. Honestly, there aren't a helluva lot of healthy relationships out there, unfortunately....
If you ARE a happy couple, then good for you!
If you're single, then let me tell ya - it's MUCH better being single than being stuck in a bad relationship.
Just go out on Saturday night with your friends and have some fun!!
And ya know what?
That's all there is.
Happy Valentine's Day!!

BINGO this coming Tuesday, Feb. 9th!
I know what you're thinking.....
Trix, you JUST HAD a BINGO night last week!!!
Yeah, I know.
This is the deal....Spotty Dog does Trivia Tuesday every other Tuesday....like my BINGO Madness nights.
And, we were BOTH doing events on the SAME alternating Tuesday.
In our little city of Hudson, there were TOO MANY events on one Tuesday, and not a lot on the other Tuesday....so...
I'm moving my BINGO night.
And then, we'll alternate going forward.

GIO and I are continuing our nights of debauchery, now at the Red Dot - which is used to debauchery anyway....
Sat - Feb. 13 - 10 pm
RED Party at the RED Dot!
It's a $10 cover (no discounts, sorry), but you DO get a free drink.
It's a new era for Trixie's Whorehouse!!!
This party marks our second anniversary! We started two years ago!
People ask me how long I've been a drag queen, and I tell them about two and half years.
They are amazed.
"Trixie" did not exist prior to Hudson. Trust me, I had NO intention of being a drag queen when I bought my little house in this town - I was just looking for another tax deduction!
Anyway, people think that I've been doing drag forever.
I guess I'm a "natural".
I don't know if that's good or bad.
Well.....Watch this video, I love it!
(Gio and I made a video to promote the party, I'll have it done by this weekend.....I have now SO many Trixie videos to edit.....ugh....you think it's easy doing drag, huh? It's a full time gig!)

The GayHudson.com Legal Review Department will not let me publish this story.
It's too true...too personal....
I can't tell it here on the blog.
So, I have to tell it tonight during BINGO!!!
All you're going to know now is that the story involves me in a dress, eye makeup, and a cute, cute TIGHT (so, mother-fuckin' TIGHT! Damn!) twenty-something boy butt.
Come to BINGO tonight if you want the HOLE story!!
...homonym error intentional....
AND Vasilow's in Hudson is giving us a BIG CHOCOLATE HEART as a prize for BINGO.
The big chocolate heart has NOTHING to do with the boy butt....trust me.....totally separate.
Here's the email I wrote about BINGO that went out to the Hudson City Biz email list:
When I moved to Hudson, I gave up cable....and my TV. I have to keep myself entertained, somehow....
So, I slap on a dress and a wig, call BINGO numbers and tell stupid stories and lame-o jokes.
For instance, here's one:
Q: Where do you find pictures of missing trannies?
A: On cartons of Half-and-Half!
See what you're missing?
Come play BINGO
at pm, the wine bar
119 Warren St
You could win cookies I bake, wine, champagne, or maybe some locally-roasted coffee!
You just don't know what you'll win. It's a surprise.
Play SPEED BINGO!!! Try to mark your cards as fast as humanly possible, AFTER you've had two glasses of wine.
Try it. It's a challenge.
You might think that they're your friends and neighbors, but at Trixie's BINGO Madness..... .you're on your own!
(It's like '', except that it's BINGO and you're sipping wine in a very nice bar.)
Hope to see you!
