Remember Christmas is a time of giving, children should never know what it feels like to go without during the Holidays. YOU can make a difference in the life of a local child here in Hudson. Remember toys will be accepted this weekend at the Red Dot, winter walk would be a great time to start sharing your Holiday spirit.
Love and Happy Holidays
I would also like to thank both the staff of the Red Dot and GayHudson.com for joining together to make a difference in the life local children in need.
But god what an actress that Gloria Grahame was!
I'm glad I know you George Bailey.
Shes gone too.
Her favoriate picture of mine is "In a Lonely Place" with Humphrey Bogart. She was a looker then. He was a looker then. I was a hooker then. They was in love, just a little too hard.
I was born when she kissed me. I died when she left me. I lived a few weeks while she loved me.
Sheesh they don't write dailogue like that anymore.
And it just wasn't meant to be. Life can be like that. What were we talkin about again? Oh ya Gloria Grahame as Vi in Its a wonderful life.
Violet: I like him.
Mary: You like every boy.
Violet: What's wrong with that?

The staff here at GayHudson.com thought it would be a nice idea to make a difference in the lives of the children in Hudson. So, we put our heads together and racked the few brain cells that we have left. Finally, Agnes came up with the idea of "Toys at the Dot for a Tot". It is hard to imagine what it would feel like to wake up on Christmas morning with little or nothing under the tree. This is the reality for some children in our city.
Starting Friday, 11/30/07, through the close of business on Sunday, 12/16/07, you can drop off an unwrapped toy at the RED DOT. The toys collected will be donated to the a local charity where they will be distributed to children in need. Let's show the children of Hudson that we care.
Remember Christmas and the Holidays are a time for sharing. We need to join together as a community and show what we are capable of. So, when you’re out and about town, stop by the Red Dot for dinner and/or drinks, and drop that toy in the box.
We the staff at the GayHudson.com thank you for your continued support of us and in advance for making this first "Toys at the Dot for a Tot" a success. Also, thanks to Perry and Alana for agreeing to be the drop-off point for our toy drive.

Another contest in time for Winter Walk!
Agnes has come up with another Actress Trivia game for you.
The prize this time is a red lightbulb. We're on a campaign to give out red lightbulbs for everyone's porches, in honor of Hudson's past!
I also have some more GayHudson.com baseball caps.
The deadline is 5pm on Wednesday! We have lots of lightbulbs, to all correct entries, and five caps, to the first five right answers.
Yours truely, Trixie, will be passing them out during Winter Walk on Saturday.
Email me, Trixie@GayHudson.com with your answer and how I can get your prize to you!
If you post the answer as a comment in the blog, I will not approve/display the correct answers until after the contest!
Read below, let the game begin!
See you at Winter Walk!
Well its holiday season again. Right? Its starting to get cold. The next thing you know it will be Winter Walk. Never understood why they didn't call it "Winter Stroll" which would make more sense in Hudson. Right kiddos?
In one of my favorite holidy motion pictures you get to see a small town the bad and the good parts of it and the warmth and friednliness and loneliness and nastiness and smalltown part peering through the lace curtains to. The movie really contains a range of human emotion from bad to beautiful even though its ficional. Oftentimes people miss the reality of it because there are moments of saccaharine sweetness grossness but there is a lot of honesty to you know.
I mean there are a few moments when Jimmy Stewart is sitting on the bridge wher you think Shirley Temple is gonna come through tapdancing on a iceflow and your happy there is flowing water that you can puke into.
I was down at Fosters the other day and foud a closet full of old red light bulbs must have been left over from some Christmas party down there. So anybody who tells me who played the hooker in my favorite holiday movie gets one! Its a contest. Tell us the name of this oscar winning actress.
In the movie no one really rools down the wondow and yells "Hey you hooker Julia Roberts suck my dingleberry!" like they did in Pretty Lasy. So you cant just google it like Tippy did to get "Mary Wickes" besuase it was Holwyood and there are no hookers in Hollywood except the actesses. And she didnt win her oscar for this movie, she won it for a different movie. OK?
Its not THAT easy OK? I mean, in the movie I think Frankie Capra just implied that she was a pretty girl who danced well and had better clothes than the Bedford Falls librarian. Though annybody who saw "From Here to Eternity" knows there was quite a bit of hooker in Donna Reed to.
Same rules as with Mary Wicks, post your answer in comments and email Trixie your intials. Except this time you win a red light bulb. For your front door or whatever. Trixie will have them for you in her handbag at Winter Stroll.

Oh little bucolic town of Hudson, the Holidays are upon us!
It's a busy time of year!
Next weekend, it's "Winter Walk" here in Hudson, Saturday, December 1st. 5-8pm.
Then, there's "Winter Stroll" in Catskill, on the following weekend, December 8th, followed by the afterparty at Doubles.
Also, the Snowball benefit party in Albany at Phoenix bar on December 8th as well - see flyer above.
AND, on December 15th, at the Red Dot, there's the drag queen extraordinaire, Pearlene, hosted by Musty Chiffon, with DJ Gio at midnight (I'll remind you again when we get closer).
Mark your calendars!
Let's take a little time now to remember the true meaning of Christmas.............

So the question is are we any better off today than we where 30 yrs ago, we still go around calling each other words that are not acceptable for those of other races to use. And we wonder why we are not treated equally or people still don't respect us, we don't respect each other. I for one have taken that word out of my vocabulary, it is degrading and does nothing to promote respect of self worth.

Don't get confused.
"Proctor's" has nothing to do with a proctologist visit.
Although, if you play your cards right, maybe you will end up with a finger up your ass at the end of the night.
More, if you're lucky!
(I wonder why more places don't send me events to plug....)
(heehee.....maybe that's why....)
Anyway, here's the info. You should go. Why not?
Tell 'em Trixie sent ya!
I have no idea where Schenectady is.
I think it's a stop on the 4,5, or 6 lines.....somewhere past 125th street...

Being gay in my family is not a big deal....no one really talks about sex, or even relationships...
Being vegetarian is MUCH MORE difficult....everyone talks about food!
This Thanksgiving, a little shout out to the little vegetarian kids, who, like the little gay kids, have a hard time, especially now.
And then there's the gay vegetarian kids....I don't know what to tell you....

There were two FABULOUS art openings this weekend.
I went to the Frank Faulkner exhibit in Catskill, and was immediately asked, "Trixie, I didn't know you went across the river?"
My friends in Brooklyn will tell you it's true. I rarely cross the East River for any occasion, but I do cross the Hudson from time to time. This time, it was NOT a trip to Home Depot.
Frank's exhibit was fabulous! I will never turn down a chance to see a wall of penises (or is it penii?).
The crowd at the opening was incredible. This woman, my new best friend, Michelle, wants to give me a tour of Catskill. Sure! She was amazing! Her outfit was incredible. This gal gets it! Life is too short!
One of my MANY admirers.
Also, you MUST check out the exhibit at 209 Warren Street. Artists, such as my friend Giovanni diMola are displaying their exhibits at CONTINUUM.

People ask me WHY I do drag. Usually, I just answer, why not?
There's a yoga instructor, who, when his students are in a balancing pose, like tree, he purposefully goes over and pushes them over.
Every day we get up and get dressed, and go about our daily lives. But, how often do we stop and ask ourselves, why?
Why this job?
Why this relationship?
Why this outfit?
Are we just stuck in a routine?
Every now and then, it's good to get a push, to re-focus, re-balance, and re-steady ourselves.
You can ALWAYS re-define yourself, change yourself, and change your life.
It's never too late.
PS - In addition to re-examining limiting cultural sexual stereotypes, in drag, you can go up to cute straight guys and cop a feel. Do you need more of a reason? Hello.
...more photos tomorrow....

YAY! There's a new blog in town!!
Early to rise, early to bed.
In and between I cooked and cleaned and went out of my head.
Going through life with blinders on, it's tough to see.
I had to get up, get out from under and look for me.
*There's a new BLOG in town and she's looking good.
*There's a fresh freckled face, in the neighborhoood.
There's a new BLOG in town, with a brand new style.
She was just passing through,
but if things work out she's gonna stay awhile....ba ba bum bum bummmm
I love the fact that there's a new blog! And it has a political bent! It's great. Takes the pressure off of me to cover politics.
Like we should leave political coverage in this town to the Register-Star?! Please.
Don't even get me started on the Register-Star today.....
We need new and more outlets for news and information in this town. We need more voices.
Diamond Street - I have hope.
Check it out!
Victor, who runs it, knows his shit.
Ok, here's the other verse.
Who knew there was so much wisdom in TV show lyrics?
Used to be sad, used to be shy
Funniest thing, the saddest part is I never knew why...
Kickin' myself for nothin' was my favorite sport
I had to get out and start enjoyin' 'cause life's too short
There's a new BLOG in town, 'cause I'm feelin good.
Get a smile, get a song, for the neighborhood
there's a new BLOG in town on her own two feet
and this BLOG's here to say
with some luck and love life's gonna be
