Short Films and Cheese!

Hi -

I'm back in the saddle, again, kinda....

Tomorrow night, I'm doing a Short Films and Cheese at Space 360.

Dinner will be Mac and Cheese! Meat and Mac and Cheese/Veg and Mac and Cheese and Salad.

And I'm making cheesecake for dessert!!

All for $20 - two hours of short films at a great space, and dinner! Complimentary glass of wine.

Wednesday - June 30th
Doors open at 6:30
Films at 7pm
Dinner at 8pm....more films at 9pm!

See you there!

here's some info on the films:

The two American animated shorts are, perhaps unsurprisingly, comic--a Pixar snippet featuring characters from Monsters, Inc. and a clever sci-fi shaggy-dog story ("The ChubbChubbs!," that year's animated winner). The foreign entries, in contrast, range from the philosophical (a German entry views human history from the perspective of a rock) to the surreal (from Japan, the story of a miser with a cherry tree growing out of his scalp). The live-action shorts are just as varied; "This Charming Man" (the winning entry, from Denmark) follows a Danish man pursuing love after a bureaucratic mix-up leads him to disguise himself as a Pakistani immigrant. "I'll Wait for the Next One," from France, packs heartbreak into four swift minutes; Belgium's "Gridlock" gives betrayal a dark comic twist; and the Australian short "Dog" offers a potent glimpse of brutality and consequences in South Africa. A substantial selection, each short a dense and satisfying nugget of film.

An email I received today....

True story:

Hullo just read the great news about the boys winning Prom King & Queen in your city, just wanted to say hi and thanks for keeping the dream alive.

I grew up gay in a tiny little Missouri town (150 people) and I know how much it would have meant to me to have a role model like you around to set an example for me.

Thanks for being you!

As Erika, the Book Heiress, said to me tonight....

It's been a lot of nights doing a lot of things, sometimes I don't even know why I do it.

Calling BINGO numbers, posting fliers around town, meetings, countless hours of organizing and baking cookies....

Keeping cash in my boot...yelling at GIO!!!

And then you get one email, from a total stranger, and it's all worthwhile.

Trix talks to Channel 7 News New York

It's not everyday I get to talk to Channel 7 News New York, but today I did!

Charlie Ferrusi and Timothy Howard of Hudson High School were voted Prom King and Queen. The Register-Star ran the story last night.

AP picked it up, and it's now all over the world!

Channel 7 emailed me this am, and did an interview at noon.

Here I am telling people about Hudson Pride and the wonderful City of Hudson!

Hudson Pride is going to be OUT OF CONTROL!!!

King Charlie and Queen Timmy will be there!
